Al Riyadi claimed the inaugural WASL-West Asia championship with a 114-100 victory over Gorgan, energizing the home crowd at the Nouhad Nawfal Sports Complex in Zouk Mikael. Duop Reath led with 26 points and 9 rebounds, supported by Wael Arakji’s 21 points and Kevin Murphy’s 18. The trio’s strong performance in the second quarter secured their lead, while Amir Saoud and Hayk Gyokchyan contributed 18 and 16 points, respectively, in the third quarter to seal the win.

This victory marked the culmination of Al Riyadi’s successful WASL-West Asia campaign, which included wins over Orthodox Amman in the Qualification to Semi-Finals and a sweep of Beirut Club in the Semis. They also overcame the reigning two-time Iranian Super League champions to claim the crown.

Gorgan, led by Perry Petty’s rare triple-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists, faced a crushing defeat.

Both Al Riyadi and Gorgan will now prepare for the WASL Final 8 in June, where they will be joined by third-placer Beirut Club.
